Honeymooners Tried to Make My Flight

Ever had seatmates from hell? I did on a 14-hour flight. Meet the newlyweds who thought the plane was their honeymoon suite. When they pushed their luck, I decided to make some turbulence of my own. I’m Toby, 35, and after being away from my family, I was looking forward to a peaceful flight home. But when I boarded, I met Dave and Lia, two entitled newlyweds who quickly turned my flight into a nightmare. Dave, sitting next to me,

asked if I’d switch seats with Lia, who was stuck in economy. I refused unless he paid the difference for my upgraded seat. He didn’t like it and muttered, “You’ll regret this.”What followed were nonstop disruptions—coughing, a loud movie without headphones, snack crumbs raining down, and Lia plopping on Dave’s lap like it was their private space. I couldn’t take it anymore and called over a flight attendant. I aired their behavior loudly enough for nearby passengers to hear: coughing fits,

loud movies, and their ridiculous lap dance. The stewardess, though polite, told them to return to economy, and the couple reluctantly complied, but not before Dave gave me a death stare. After they were moved, the flight was peaceful, and I got a drink on the house for my patience. Karma struck again when more turbulence hit, and I caught Dave trying to stop his drink from spilling. Later,

Lia tried to pull a bathroom emergency, but I stopped them in their tracks, reminding the attendants they were supposed to be in the back.By the time we landed, I felt victorious. Karma had come full circle, and I couldn’t help but enjoy one last jab as I passed them: “Hope you learned something today. Enjoy your honeymoon!” With that, I finally reunited with my family, and the nightmare flight was behind me.
